Michelle A. Robinson

Michelle Robinson is the president of Verizon’s southeast region and among the highest ranking women at Verizon Communications. She is responsible for shaping and advancing public policy strategies for its wireline, wireless, and enterprise business segments. She also directs Verizon's philanthropic activities toward the critical needs of the communities in the region, notably enhancing literacy and education through Thinkfinity.org, domestic violence prevention, tackling health-care accessibility issues and keeping Internet users safe on-line.
Her service territory includes the following states in the southeast region:
- Florida
- Georgia
- North Carolina
- South Carolina
- Alabama
- Kentucky
- Mississippi
- Louisiana
- Tennessee
Verizon’s southeast region includes approximately 27,000 employees providing the highest quality customer service for millions of customers ranging from the individual consumer purchasing wireline, cable and wireless service to the largest enterprise customer purchasing data and IP solutions.
As Verizon’s senior leader in the southeast, Michelle is often called on to speak at various conferences and events throughout the region. She is listed by Atlanta Woman Magazine as one of the top 25 women to watch in 2008 and one of Atlanta Tribune Magazine’s super women.
Robinson has an extensive background in policy development, public affairs and corporate communications. Prior to becoming the southeast region president, Robinson was senior vice president for Verizon’s southern region in Atlanta and managed all public policy and public affairs for 6 states.
Robinson began her Verizon career ten years ago and has held a variety of management positions in the area of public policy and government relations including vice president of regulatory affairs in Florida. Prior to beginning her career with Verizon, Robinson held a number of positions in the areas of diversity management and compliance. Most notably, she served as community liaison on behalf of U.S. Congressman Bob Filner (D–San Diego, CA).
Robinson was raised in San Diego, California and holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of California at Los Angeles, and a master's degree in public policy analysis from the University of Southern California School of Public Administration.
Robinson lives in Tampa, Florida with her husband John, and two sons John IV and Ethan.
